What is your role at your host site?

I provide pregnant women and women with small children information on how to keep themselves and their babies healthy. I also help them find the services and supplies that they need.

Why did you join AmeriCorps/National Health Corps?

I have benefited from similar programs in my past and wanted to “pay it forward”. I also wanted to gain experiences and skills in the healthcare field.

What are you hoping to gain from your year of service?

I hope to be better prepared, with both skills and understanding, to start a career in public health.

What are your plans after AmeriCorps service?

I want to go back to school and get a Master’s in Nutritional Science.

Where do you envision yourself in 5 years?

I want to be in the public health field making a difference.
