Educational background:  B.S. in Psychology and a Minor in Chemistry from the University of New Mexico

Host Site: Clay Behavioral Health Center

What is your title and role at your host site? I will be working as a Care Coordinator, which will involve screening patients in order to refer them to the services that they can benefit from using. I also will help facilitate a program for chronic diseases prevention providing health education.


Why did you join AmeriCorps/National Health Corps? I love serving others and challenging myself. After finding the National Health Corps I knew that it would be something that I would love doing as it fit in with my passions and seemed like a very rewarding experience.


What are you hoping to gain from your year of service? I hope to gain a greater understanding of the people and the challenges in the world and to grow more as a person through the experience.


What are your plans after AmeriCorps service? I plan to work with people on their health and well-being whether through attending medical school or in some other manner.


Where do you envision yourself in 5 years? I envision myself working to help people be the healthiest and happiest they can be and supporting those who are going through challenging times.
