What is your role at your host site?
As an Outreach Specialist, I connect pregnant women to the resources and services they need in order to make sure that they give birth to a healthy baby.
Why did you join AmeriCorps/National Health Corps?
I joined AmeriCorps/North Florida Health Corps, and more specifically the North Florida Health Corps, because I have an interest for women’s health and wanted to do something meaningful for an underserved population.
What are you hoping to gain from your year of service?
From my year of service, I am hoping to gain experiences, both seen and unforeseen, that I will be able to apply to all aspects of my future, not only my future career.
What are your plans after AmeriCorps service?
After my AmeriCorps service, I plan on attending graduate school to get my Masters in Genetic Counseling.
Where do you envision yourself in 5 years?
In 5 years, I envision myself being a genetic counselor living in a city with my dog, Darla. (Disclaimer: I have no idea where I envision myself in 5 years).
